Palisades Library

Completion: January 2018 | Location: Washington, DC

The Palisades Library Project aimed to breathe new life into the 1964 building and enhance its functionality for the community.
The extensive modernization included crucial upgrades, such as a state-of-the-art HVAC system, enlarged windows in the façade and entrance for improved natural light, and adaptations to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The rejuvenated Palisades Library now boasts impressive features, including seating for 200 people, all-new furniture, fixtures, and flooring, a spacious programming room accommodating up to 100 people, a conference room for 14, and three small study rooms. The addition of a large vestibule, a green roof, and a thoughtfully designed staircase for easy wayfinding enhances both the aesthetic and functional aspects of the library. Notably, the project achieved LEED Gold Certification, underscoring its commitment to sustainability.
As contributors to this significant revitalization effort, we take pride in the role we played in transforming the Palisades Library into a modern, accessible, and environmentally conscious community hub. We look forward to witnessing the positive impact it will have on the neighborhood for years to come.
